This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Beer Run you agree to this policy. Beer Run is operated by Beer Run Pty Ltd (ABN 94 697 111 309, ACN 697 111 309).
Age Requirement
Beer Run is an app about alcohol. You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or use Beer Run. Users under 18 are not permitted. During sign-up we collect your date of birth and require you to confirm that you are 18 or older and reside in a jurisdiction where alcohol consumption is legal. Accounts found to belong to under-18s will be removed.
Who We Are
Beer Run is a free social app that lets you record pub crawls, discover bars, plan routes with friends, and share your nights out. The app is operated by Beer Run Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our").
What We Collect and Why

Beer Run is free. We do not collect phone numbers or payment details.

How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Run Beer Run and its features (bar map, run tracking, pub crawl planner, messaging, social feed)
- Verify your age at sign-up (date of birth)
- Show your activity to friends and followers you choose
- Send notifications you've opted into (messages, crawl invites)
- Improve the app — understanding how features are used helps us make them better
- Fix bugs and diagnose crashes
We do not use your information to:
- Serve targeted advertising
- Sell your data to third parties
- Build profiles for marketing purposes
- Infer sensitive characteristics about you beyond what you explicitly provide
How We Share Your Information
We share your information only where necessary to run the app:
- Database & authentication provider — your account data and run history is stored securely with our cloud infrastructure provider.
- Mapping services — used to display bar maps and location features. Subject to the provider's privacy policy.
- Push notification services — used to deliver in-app alerts such as messages and crawl invites.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Your Content and Visibility
By default, your beer runs and pub crawls are private unless you choose to share them. Your profile and display name are visible to users you connect with.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile settings. Deletion removes your data from our systems within 30 days.
Location Data
GPS tracking is off by default and is only activated when you explicitly start a tracked beer run. We do not store raw GPS tracks beyond what is needed to display your route. You can disable location access entirely in your device settings — the bar map and manual run logging will still work.
Data Security
We use Supabase's built-in security (Row Level Security, encrypted connections) to protect your data. Your password is never stored in plain text — authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
Children
Beer Run is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from people under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at hello@barva.com.au and we will remove it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will show you a notice inside the app and ask you to accept the updated policy before continuing. The version number and effective date at the top of this document will be updated.
